My writing goal so far this term has been to use more complex language features to enhance my writing.
Here is a piece of writing about the rain.
How do you think I’m going with my goal?

Drip… drop… drip… drop. Rain drips on the concrete. Heavy, dark grey clouds gather above, blocking out the last rays of warm sunlight. Silence. Then FLASH! BOOM! Rain starts pelting down on us. We run. Panting, like I had just outrun a cheetah, I look through the shivering window with icy cold tears running down its face and see windscreen wipers trying to repel rain water with their crazy movements. Gutters are drowning under all of the rain that they are too tired to drain away. I look up. The clouds scatter like they are scared of me. The rain eases back to the drip… drop… drip… drop.
